Author Biosketch for ECHOES OF THE MYSTIC CHORDS: A NOVEL © J. Wes Ulm, MD, PhD
J. Wesley “Wes” Ulm is an author, physician, and medical researcher. Hailing originally from Alexandria, Virginia, he studied chemistry and biochemistry at Duke University before completing his joint MD and PhD degrees at Harvard Medical School and MIT in the Division of Health Sciences and Technology.
He was a top champion on the Jeopardy TV quiz program, appearing on five shows in 1997 and in the Tournament of Champions in 1998.
In addition to publishing technical articles, he was the editor and a major author in the Vision at Harvard essay anthology series of 2003. He has also been published in Democracy Journal and Utne Reader, and has won multiple literary prizes (starting with first-place awards in the annual Reflections writing contest) since his high school days.
He currently works as a medical genetics fellow in southern California.
