The Triantarchy

The Triantarchy: A cabal of thirty powerful "Clans" (most of their members unrelated by blood) that has seized the levers of American power in the wake of Fisher's Reckoning, a catastrophic, systemic economic collapse with a bloody aftermath that shook the world in 2019. Also referred to as "Ruling Families" and "Ruling Clans," the Triantarchs are a shadowy group which, although riven by factional strife, has attained almost undisputed oligarchic control of core institutions, acting in effect as plutocrats and feudal lords who have taken on the names of old Roman aristocratic families. Most of them have long preferred to act from the shadows "behind the marbled walls," ruling through compliant figureheads, but there are unnerving recent indications that this stance may be changing for reasons unknown to the outside.
